reserch and planning:front page final draft

This is my masthead of my magazine. I have chosen to make it red and have an outline of black because I wanted it to stand out from the magazine, also because other magazines have similar kind of idea like Kerrang and NME. I have put a sound wave though the text to make it look like a music magazine and to make it look more abnormal.

I have chosen Ed Sheeran for my main picture because he is an Indie artist and a lot of people no him. I am going to take a similar picture like this for my font cover of my magazine because he has got the props that I want to use in my photo and he is wearing casual clothing and he looks like he is singing live which is what I want my model to look like they are doing.

I have put a bar-code in the bottom right hand corner because it’s out of the way and most magazines have it there because it’s out of the way, so it’s a good place to put it. Also on an Indie rock magazine such as Kerrang and NME they have there's on this side as well so I put mine here.

I have put the date at the side of the bar-code with the price next to it. But when I do my actual magazine I think I might put it at the side of the masthead with the issue number because I have done some research and very few have them with the bar-code, a lot of them just have the prices as the side of it. 

I have contrasted a dark blue font with the orange background so that it stands out. Also I have put free on the text because then they no they are getting something out of the magazine and also they are bands that they may be familiar with because they are popular Indie bands.

I have chosen these bands' You Me At Six' and Forever The Sickness Kids' because they are popular bands and they are what most people like if they are into that sort of music. I am going to put these on my magazine because if people no them then they will buy the magazine because they are into that music and band

I have put the headline underneath the masthead because normally the fist thing they read is the masthead so they no what they are buying, and so they read it straight after. I have put a purple background behind the text so that it stands out more, I have also found out that a lot of Indie rock magazines have similar colours on there magazine and also though my questionnaire and my interview people wanted purple and red. And also it really contrasts well with black.
